Sidmouth to Cullompton Turnpike Road                             (updated 23rd Sept 2013)

This trust was created in 1844, quite late in the turnpike era. It was responsible for the road from the new railway station at Hele and the London Road in Cullompton to the seaside resort of Sidmouth. The trustees may never have completed the road improvements and were subject to litigation over their right to collect tolls until the road was finished.
