network of roads radiating from the market town into SE Somerset.

Counties of Somerset and Wilts, therein described. [18th May 1810.]

There are 56 and three quarter miles of road through 31 parishes – all
repaired by contract with the trustees
15 toll gates and 7 side bars
The roads are stated to be in “good” repair – no part under indictment
for want of repair.
